Experience Japan in the heart of Mawson Lakes – fun, culture, and celebration await at Matsuri on Mobara!

Join us for an exciting celebration of Japanese culture at the Matsuri on Mobara festival, happening on Sunday 27 October 2024, from 11am to 3pm at Mobara Park and The Denison Centre in Mawson Lakes.

This family-friendly event highlights the City of Salisbury's Sister City relationship with Mobara City, Japan, offering a vibrant mix of traditional and modern Japanese experiences. Enjoy live performances, interactive activities, and delicious food and beverages in a festive atmosphere.

Adding to the excitement, the festival coincides with the 25th birthday of Mawson Lakes, featuring a special birthday celebration.

Entry is free! Bring your family and friends for a day of cultural discovery and fun.

In addition to all this fun and excitement, City of Salisbury are also hosting a number of workshops including origami and calligraphy (currently SOLD OUT) at the Mawson Lakes Library to celebrate our Sister City, Mobara City.

Mawson Lakes turns 25

As part of this year's festival, the City of Salisbury will also celebrate Mawson Lakes' 25th birthday! Join us for a special moment as Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM cuts the birthday cake, and take a look back at how Mawson Lakes has grown and developed into the vibrant, multicultural community it is today.
