The Bagster Road Toy Library is open from Friday 24 January

The Bagster Road Toy library has a range of items to help your child build their skills and imagination. Appointments can be made for families with children who require quieter sessions.

Membership

The Bagster Road Toy Library is on a separate system to the public libraries and requires its own membership. Speak to a staff member to sign up for free. You will need to show your ID with a current home address and sign the terms and conditions.

Borrowing

Please bring your ID to borrow items from the toy library.

Two week borrowing period

  • Up to two general toys or two sensory tools
  • One puzzle

One week borrowing period

  • Up to three party items

Returns

Return items to the toy library during opening hours. Items must be clean and in good condition with all packaging and pieces returned.

Categories

We are currently not accepting any donations of toys for the toy library.

General toys

  • Active play items to develop skills like balance and hand-eye coordination.
  • Beginner play items to encourage exploring senses.
  • Construction toys to develop early maths skills, creativity and problem solving.
  • Toys to develop fine motor skills like pinching and grasping.
  • Cooperative games to develop logical and creative thinking, patience and resilience.
  • Imaginative play items to develop social skills and empathy.
  • Musical instruments to develop early maths skills, creativity and self-expression.
  • Transport toys encourage creativity and develop fine motor and communication skills.

Puzzles

  • Items to develop concentration and critical thinking skills through matching and sorting.

Sensory tools

  • Tools to support sensory needs, designed for older children with adult supervision.

Party

  • Big games and equipment for parties and events.
