Multicultural Resources
Salisbury Libraries provide a variety of multicultural resources in more than 30 languages. Materials are available for loan across our five branches as well as online.
Community Languages
The Salisbury Libraries have materials available in 26 different languages including Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Dutch, Farsi, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Khmer, Marathi, Nepali, Panjabi, Polish, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Vietnamese.
Our Community Language collections include books, large print, CDs, DVDs, magazines and newspapers.
However, if you can't find resources in your language we can try to source them for you. Just visit your nearest branch and ask library staff.
The Salisbury Libraries are also aware of the needs of its diverse community. With this in mind, the City of Salisbury offers a free voluntary interpreting service of Council issues. Please contact (08) 8406 8222 for assistance.

Online Resources
The Salisbury Libraries provide access to online newspapers, magazines and information in a variety of languages.
The One Card Network is also a great online resource that directs members to the library the language is located at.
SBS (the Special Broadcasting Service) offers its website content in a wide range of languages. Click the Language sites menu for information. SBS also provides some foreign news and entertainment programs via its television and radio broadcast channels.

Learn English
Our libraries provide a large collection of books and discs for learning English.
If you are studying for the International English Language Testing System tests, you can access online practice tests and examinations on the following websites.
- Road to IELTS - IELTS is the 'International English Language Testing System', the world's proven English language test. This site is a self-study IELTS preparation course to help candidates prepare for the IELTS exam. It provides access to free online self-study materials to support IELTS General Training and IELTS Academic test preparation. A current SA public library card and PIN is all that is required to gain access.

Language Resources
The library has an extensive collection of Adult Literacy kits and language resources covering different learning levels.
If you would like to extend your knowledge or start with the basics, the Library offers a variety of resources containing listening, speaking, reading, numeracy, vocabulary and writing assessment tasks. Resources such as dictionaries, spelling, grammar, writing and phrase books are also available.
