Mawson Lakes Up in Lights
Mawson Lakes Boulevard is set to glow as the City of Salisbury holds a new family-friendly event, Lights @ Mawson – and it’s all FREE. Running over two weekends, the event will feature both day and night attractions with giant inflatable sculptures that light up at night and inflatable mazes – exotic handmade creations painted by Canadian and Australian artists.
“The Mawson Lakes area is so beautiful and will be positively magical lit up at night. It’s the perfect place for the children to dance, explore and listen to stories,” said Mayor Aldridge.
Kids can get involved with colourful costume parades, dance through a storytelling theatre in a giant turtle inflatable and explore the inflatable mazes – all designed with environmental sensitivity in mind.
Installations are products of Nylon Zoo and EcoMaze, the creations of internationally renowned textile and performance artist, Evelyn Roth, and specially designed to be inclusive of all ages. They promote education, entertainment and imagination.
