Salisbury Aquatic Centre’s outdoor facilities debut this school holidays

The highly anticipated outdoor pool, water park, and slides at Salisbury Aquatic Centre opens Monday, 30 September, for its first official summer season.

For the first time, City of Salisbury community members will have full access to one of the best aquatic facilities in the state, as the inaugural summer season introduces the 50-metre outdoor pool, seasonal kiosk, splash pad and waterplay area with three junior water slides and giant tipping bucket, and 10-metre high, triple water slide tower.

Members can access amenities based on their plan, and casual passes will be priced at just $6.90 for child and concession, $9 for adults, and $26 for families. Visitors can opt for slide add-ons and will be able to purchase spectator passes for the low cost of $2.50.

Salisbury Aquatic Centre is nestled within the lush parklands of Happy Home Reserve, next to tennis courts and play equipment. The reserve’s walking trails, fitness equipment, and BBQ areas make it the ideal place for a full day out for the whole family.

Monday, 30 September, marks the start of regular summer season business hours, with outdoor facilities open from 5.30 am to 8:30 pm Monday to Friday, and 7.00 am to 6 pm on weekends. Public holidays will be 10 am to 6 pm.

Waterslides will be operational from 4 pm to 6 pm Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 4 pm on weekends, school holidays, and public holidays.

To celebrate the milestone, over 2000 lucky community members will be the first to experience the outdoor facilities ahead of the public opening, free of charge, on Sunday 29 September.

Tickets booked out quickly, with 400 tickets provided to local community groups and organisations to ensure vulnerable members of the community could attend.

Outside the Centre, a community event will host free entertainment including inflatables (such as jumping castles), mini golf, rock climbing, circus workshops, a mobile library and more, while a DJ plays the latest hits. There will also be food vendors offering a range of low-cost options.

‘I am delighted to see the Salisbury Aquatic Centre come to life with slides and water play features that are a first for our City. It’s exciting that our community now has a premier aquatic and recreation precinct catering to all their fitness and leisure needs, making it the perfect destination for a full day out.

‘With this enhancement to Happy Home Reserve, this area is now a complete hub for recreation, and it’s truly a privilege to see it available to our residents.’
