Salisbury Community Bus Service Extended

Salisbury Community Bus trial extended for further three months

Getting around town has never been easier, with the Salisbury Community Bus providing residents with reliable access to key locations throughout the City of Salisbury.

Council has carefully considered the extensive positive feedback from frequent users, with the trial period for the popular, free bus service being extended for a further three months.

The Salisbury Community Bus stops at nine key locations and shopping centres across the City, including; St Kilda Adventure Playground, Hollywood Plaza Shopping Centre and Parabanks.

Since the trial first commenced in October 2021, the bus service has garnered plenty of praise, with its many users declaring it has restored lost freedoms and has made a big difference to their lives.

An average of 90 residents use the community bus per week, and many of the passengers have been able to form strong friendships over the course of the trial.

The community bus has been a great success in connecting people to services and shops, allowing for more people to regain their independence.

All users are encouraged to provide feedback in the online survey to help refine the service and understand its future feasibility.
