On and Off Leash Areas
The City of Salisbury has many great open spaces where dogs can be exercised and enjoyed with their owners including parks, reserves and dedicated off leash fenced exercise areas.
Area | Description |
---|---|
Streets and Footpaths | Dogs must be on a leash at all times, not exceeding 2 metres in length. |
Wetland Areas | All wetlands are dog on leash areas at all times. Dogs must be on a leash, not exceeding 2 metres in length. |
Parks and Reserves 8:00am to 6:30pm | Dogs must be on a leash, not exceeding 2 metres in length. |
Parks and Reserves 6:30pm to 8:00am | Dogs must be under effective control by remaining on leash not exceeding 2 metres in length, or they can be off leash but must still be under effective control by command and the dog must be in close proximity, and you must be able to see the dog at all times. |
Fenced Dog Off Leash Parks | Dogs can be off leash at all times but must still be under effective control by command and the dog must be in close proximity, and you must be able to see the dog at all times. Dog park rules and etiquitte apply |
Fenced Small Dog Off Leash Parks | Dogs that meet the small dog entry requirements can be off leash at all times but must still be under effective control by command and the dog must be in close proximity, and you must be able to see the dog at all times. Dog Park rules and etiquette apply. |
Fully Enclosed Fenced Playground | These are dog free areas and dogs are not permitted |
St Kilda Playground | The play space is a dog free area and dogs are not permitted. |
Sporting Fields | When sport is being played, the playing area is a dog free area and the spectators areas are dog on leash areas. Park and reserve time and leash restrictions apply when sport is not being played. |
