Hi I am Matteo, I am a big friendly goofball looking for a family forever home. I am a large playful dog looking for someone to share my loving nature with. I may be a little too big for some people and little kids right now but please don’t that get in the way of wanting to get to know. My size comes with a really big heart too with lots of love to give. I will need someone willing to take the time and commitment with training on handling a dog of my size, I am ok with other dog but slow introductions will work better for me. With the right guidance I will make a wonderful companion.

He does at times get quite jumpy when excited and will need a lot of positive reinforcement training. Squeezed paws, pulled tail sand hugged him and he leaned right in. Teeth was a struggle at first until, he realised I was going to hurt him and it got easier and at no time did I feel he wanted to bite me. Due to size and puppy nature children under 15 years old would not be recommended. Use a harness with this big boy for better control.

Matteo spent two weeks in care with a trainer to help with his skills, He is learning more control of his big strong body and he knows how to go to bed when you tell him. He still needs more ongoing training but we have made a good start. He does not like thunder or loud shouts. He has met some other dogs now and is learning all about sharing and making friends
