Hard Waste

City of Salisbury offers a hard waste service for residents and non-profit organisations (excluding government agencies). The service is available to both residents and bona fide Salisbury non-profit organisations (church groups, sporting clubs, rotary clubs etc). The service is NOT extended to government agencies.

The hard waste service is managed by the Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority (NAWMA), which currently operates the area’s residential three bin service.

Resident service

City of Salisbury provides two free hard waste services per financial year for residents to dispose of hard waste. See the list below for material eligible to be disposed of via these services. Residents may choose two services per financial year (1 July to 30 June) of either of the following options:

Option 1: Voucher system

The voucher system, provides residents with access to either the Pooraka Resource Recovery Centre or Edinburgh North Resource Recovery Centre free of charge, for one 1.8m x 1.2m x 2.0m trailer load per voucher. To order your voucher please ring NAWMA on (08) 8259 2100. Please provide your mobile phone contact number as the voucher will be sent via text to your mobile phone. Office hours 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. You can also order your voucher online via NAWMA's website. Free trailer hire is available for City of Salisbury residents who have hard waste items to get rid of but cannot wait for collection. Residents requesting a hard waste drop-off can hire a 6 x 4 caged trailer for up to three hours, any day of the week. Bookings must be made in advance and a fully refundable deposit is required when collecting the trailer from either of NAWMA's Resource Recovery Centres. For more information please visit this page.

Option 2: Hard waste home collection service

Residents can book a home collection of up to two cubic metres of waste, with bookings collected within a four week period. All items should be placed for collection before 7am on the pick up day. Items must be neatly stacked on the verge, in front of your property. To book your hard waste collection, call NAWMA on (08) 8259 2100 or email admin@nawma.sa.gov.au. The collection service can also be booked online here via NAWMA's website.

Non-profit organisation service

(excluding Government agencies)

Non-profit organisations may access the resource recovery centres (not the home collection service) up to six times in any calendar year with no more than two vouchers per quarter. Trailer size for non-profit organisations should not exceed 1.8m x 1.2m x 2.0m. Non-profit organisations can obtain vouchers by contacting NAWMA on 08 8259 2100 or emailing admin@nawma.sa.gov.au
